FLYING WITH ONLINE EDUCATION
WHAT OUR PARENTS HAVE TO SAY

Dear Mrs. Forbes, our daughter is only in Grade 000 but we absolutely take our hats off to Miss Malan and Hartford College as a whole for being proactive in our little ones development. Family and friends cannot believe that Anandi has structured lessons every day. Yes, we’ve experienced massive cuts in our income but we cannot put a price to our child’s education, school fees are not in question.  My husband and I would like to thank you for your leadership.

Amanda Xulu

Hi Mrs Forbes, we continue to acknowledge your leadership and the amazing teachers who are doing the most during this online teaching. I can personally say, I am enjoying Grade 4. To Ms Harris - she is absolutely a Rockstar!

Caroline Matsimela

Hi Mrs Forbes, we would also like to thank you and everyone at Hartford College, for all you are doing to help educate the children.  It is really appreciated and you all need to be congratulated.

Mary-Ann Hodgskin

Dear Mrs Forbes, I think your teachers have been pretty great throughout this trying time. Thanks very much for keeping in touch.

AFFORDABLE PRIVATE SCHOOL EDUCATION

Hartford College is a Private Independent Pre-School & Primary School in Johannesburg South

Hartford College Primary School is a small private independent school, located in the heart of the suburb of Mondeor, in the South of Johannesburg, surrounded by parkland and the Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve.

The school’s tranquil, natural location is the inspiration for the school’s ethos, which aims to provide children with a gentle, nurturing environment that will stimulate their natural curiosity.

To ensure that children begin their education with the best possible advantage, Hartford College employ teachers that are a little older and have a wealth of teaching experience. Classes are kept small, so that the teachers can provide more hands-on personal attention to each child.

We follow a CAPS curriculum that is enriched, with extra emphasis placed on mathematics and the sciences.  Our standards are high, with 50% being considered a minimum pass rate in each subject.  We participate in national bench-marking Olympiads each year.  In 2018, our Grade 5 & 7 classes were ranked in to the Top 20 schools in South Africa, in Mathematics and Afrikaans.

Regular outings to the Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve helps engender a love of nature as well as being an engaging way of teaching Natural Science.

The school is a member of The Independent Schools Association (ISASA), IEB (Independent Examination Board) and WESSA.

PRE-PRIMARY - GRADE 000 - R

At Hartford College, we take a holistic view of your child's development in our prepared Montessori Pre-Primary environment.

Children are helped to develop their physical well-being (gross and fine motor skills) as well as their creativity - to enhance their communication skills and acquire social interaction abilities through play.

The Hartford holistic approach ensures that your children are ready for the transition to Gr. 1 at our Primary school.

JUNIOR PRIMARY - GRADE 1 - 3

At Hartford College, our small classes and experienced teachers are there to ensure that your child has the very best start to their formal school years.

We believe that there should be a partnership between parents and educators during these early years, in order to enhance a child’s success. Success should be achieved in the all-round development of the child’s academic, physical, emotional and moral self.

We aim to produce young adults who have benefitted from a quality education and who will have the skills and knowledge to make a success of their further education and life.
